Technically, Hurlburt Field is a part of Eglin Air Force Base, a nearby Air Force installation. Hurlburt Field is home to the 1st Special Operations Wing, which is a part of Air Force Special Operations Command. Their main mission is to rapidly plan and execute specialized and contingency operations in support of national priorities. They offer close air support, precision aerospace firepower, specialized aerospace mobility, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations, and agile combat support.

At Hurlburt military housing is operated by a privatized housing community called Mayroad. To contact Eglin AFB on-base housing through Mayroad, please call (850) 344-0220. They are located at 480 Weaver Ave Mon-Fri 0730-1700.
As a reminder, you must visit the Military Housing Office to receive counseling and guidance before entering into any written lease or rental/sales contract for housing. To contact MHO by phone, call (850) 884-7505 between the hours of 0645-1630, Monday through Friday. They are located at 1 SOCES/CEIH 123 McMillan St.

Hurlburt Field offers a variety of housing options to cater to different family sizes and preferences. Whether it’s spacious single-family homes offering three or four-bedroom floor plans. The housing here is well-maintained, ensuring that you and your loved ones feel comfortable and at home. At Mayroad housing, it is just like living in a local community, you will sign a tenant lease agreement, typically for a one-year term. You will pay your monthly rent by authorizing an allotment of your BAH that is paid directly to the property manager. Also, there are no security deposits or credit checks necessary, which adds to the ease of on-base living.
Spacious Homes and Amenities
Mayroad housing offers a resort-style community center, playgrounds, beach-entry pool, complimentary lawn care, and easy access to all that Hurlburt Field has to offer its military members and their family. The community is also pet-friendly! In the homes you will find many wonderful amenities, such as kitchens with all major appliances, and washer and dryer hookups. Also, most utilities are included, as well as front & back lawn care, and waste & recycling collection.

Life on base is anything but dull. Hurlburt Field hosts a vibrant array of community events and activities, from seasonal festivals to sports leagues and fitness programs. These opportunities for socializing and recreation help build lasting memories and strong connections. Recently, Mayroad built the new Air Commando Community Center. It is a 10,000-square-foot mult-purpose, state-of-the-art facility that will be a popular community resource for service members and their families. Residents will have access to a beach entry swimming pool, a pavilioin with a full outdoor kitchen, a new pickleball, basketball, and volleyball court. There is also a playgournd, gym, multi-purpose room, media area with computers, a fitness room with an attached playroom, and a clubroom with an open kitchen.
Unaccompanied Housing
If you are an unaccompanied Airman with less than 3 years of service and the ranks of E1-4 you can qualify for Unaccompanied Housing (UH) located at 1 SOCES/CEIHD 320 Tully Ave. You can contact the building by phone at (850) 884-3188 Mon-Fri 0730-1630. It is a great way to meet other unaccompanied airmen and be a part of a dynamic community at Hurlburt Field. Room assignments are determined by the BAQ/Dorm Management Office. It is located at 123 McMillan St. You can also call (850) 884-6442. All rooms are single occupancy with a private sleeping room, furnishing, bed linens and supplies to live comfortably.
